Vopak Shanghai Logistics Co., Ltd. is a 50/50
joint venture between Royal Vopak and the Shanghai Chemical Industry
Park located in Caojing (near Shanghai). The project is expected
to come on-stream in 4Q/2004, is an integrated bulk liquid chemical
terminal and will supply plant customers inside the park as well
as traders wishing to serve the greater Shanghai region.
Phase one investment for the terminal is USD 210 million and will have 240,000 cubic meters of storage, six jetties (2 of 5-25,000 DWT, 3 of 1-7,500 DWT berths and a 20,000-DWT solid product jetty). In addition, the terminal will have truck/rail car loading facilities and extensive drumming lines and drum storage facilities. This world scale integrated chemical storage site is being built on the latest technology and is expected to serve the growing demand for chemical logistics in the Shanghai Chemical Industrial Park, for which the facilities will see continuous expansion into the next decade.
