Vopak
Terminal Ningbo is located in the Zhenhai Port District,
along the Northern bank of Yongjiang River. Zhenhai
Port is situated in the middle of China's coastline
with Hangzhou Bay in the North and the Zhoushan Archipelago
providing natural shield from the treacherous East
China Sea. The Port of Zhenhai houses the largest
single concentrated bulk storage terminals for import
and export of liquid chemicals. There are three commercial
berths (5,000 DWT, 15,000 DWT and 80,000 DWT) available
for foreign and domestic discharge. The 80,000 DWT
berth is currently the largest chemical jetty in China.
A joint venture officially established and approved
on 18th March 1992, Phase One of the Terminal was
commissioned in 1994 with 15 bulk storage tanks ranging
from 1,000 cbm to 3,115 cbm. Phase Two of the Terminal
was commissioned in 1998 with 22-bulk storage tanks
ranging from 1,250 cbm to 5,000 cbm. The Terminal
focuses primarily on liquid chemical storage and handling.
It boosts a combined capacity of 63,600 cubic meters
with 11 tanks designated as bonded storage and the
rest as non-bonded storage tanks. Vopak Terminal Ningbo
has the distinction of handling more than 55 different
types of chemicals.
All the tanks are equipped with dedicated pumps capable
of 200 cbm meters per hour loading with 8-inch piggable
pipelines. The tanks are constructed with fixed roof
with automatic inventory control and overflow alarm.
The tanks are heat traced and insulated with nitrogen
blanketing and automatic temperature sensors are located
at different intermediate points in each tank. Dedicated
pipelines are connected to a 15,000 DWT jetty with
common link to two other jetties, 80,000 DWT and 5,000DWT.
Each Phase of the Terminal has it owns drumming facility
and holding area, capable of drumming 1 drum per minute
with preset drum weight. Vopak Terminal Ningbo Ltd
is complete with railcars loading, road truck loading,
barging and on site 3rd parry product inspection.
The facilities are equipped with heating, insulation,
nitrogen blanketing, weighbridge, sampling, and waste
vapor/water treatment.
Terminal Ningbo is certified to ISO 9002 accreditation
and aims to be the best value provider in bulk storage
of liquid chemicals in China.
