The Vopak terminal at Zhangjiagang currently is in construction phase as a 100% owned by Vopak green field terminal in China . After the start up (estimated from May 2007) OF Phase 1A, Vopak Terminal Zhangjiagang will offer 76,000 cubic meters of liquid storage capacity for petrochemical products with 27 tanks ranging from 1000 to 5000 cubic meters each.

Zhangjiagang city is located in the centre of Jiangsu province, China . The city is on the south shore of Yangtze river , which is the main channel for cargo transportation into China inland. The city is also connected with matured highway network in the area, which could easily reach most of cities in Jiangsu Province within 2-3 hours. Vopak Terminal Zhangjiagang facilities are designed to cater for the varied trading activities of petrochemicals in the region and industry customers’ requirement nearby. Zhangjiagang port ranks number one in quantity for imported petrochemicals in China for many years in past. Vopak will operate one jetty with three berths along the Yangtze River . The jetties have the capacity to handle vessels of between 500 to 50,000 deadweight tons.

Vopak Terminal Zhangjiagang will offers most of terminal services in the future, including jetty loading and unloading operations, tank storage for all kinds of petrochemicals, trucking of tank truck or iso-tank, drumming and warehousing etc. Vopak Terminal Zhangjiagang will not only bring some new petrochemical storage capacity into the local market, but also build and operate with Vopak global SHE and Quality Technical standard in future. The terminal will be developed into a true Vopak global terminal in future with total tank capacity more than half million cubic meters and total jetty capacity more than 6-8 berths.
