Profile

Kertih Terminals Sdn Bhd ("KTSB"), the joint venture company between the Malaysian national oil company Petronas (40%), Vopak Terminal Penjuru (Jurong) Pte Ltd (30%) and Dialog Equity Sdn Bhd (30%) started its operations in January of 2000. KTSB has a total of 390,000 cbm of storage capacity in 40 custom-built tanks and spheres with sizes from as low as 82 cbm to as high as 40,000 cbm. There are normal atmospheric tanks with and without Nitrogen blanketing, cryogenic tanks and heated tanks. Transfers to and from customer plants are by pipelines and tank trucks. Marine vessel loading and unloading is by hose and/or loading arm at 5 berths with berthing capabilities of between 10,000 dwt to 40,000 dwt. There are also facilities for tank truck loading and unloading.

The products stored and handled in the terminals are:

KTSB customers are petrochemical plants operating within the KIPC. These are various join-venture companies between PETRONAS and other multinational corporations which include BP, DOW, Mitsui and Mitsubishi.

With many chemical intermediates available and an excellent infrastructure in place, KIPC is set to grow and KTSB will be at the fore in providing centralised tankage facility services.
