Kertih Terminals Sdn Bhd ("KTSB"), the joint venture company
between the Malaysian national oil company Petronas (40%), Vopak
Terminal Penjuru (Jurong) Pte Ltd (30%) and Dialog Equity Sdn
Bhd (30%) started its operations in January of 2000. KTSB owns
and operates the first centralised tankage facility in Malaysia,
providing storage and handling services for petrochemical plants
in the Kertih Integrated Petrochemical Complex ("KIPC").
KTSB has a total of 390,000 cbm of storage capacity in 40 custom-built
tanks and spheres with sizes from as low as 82 cbm to as high
as 40,000 cbm. There are normal atmospheric tanks with and without
Nitrogen blanketing, cryogenic tanks and heated tanks. Transfers
to and from customer plants are by pipelines and tank trucks.
Marine vessel loading and unloading is by hose and/or loading
arm at 5 berths with berthing capabilities of between 10,000 dwt
to 40,000 dwt. There are also facilities for tank truck loading
and unloading.

KTSB customers are petrochemical plants operating within the KIPC.
These are various join-venture companies between PETRONAS and other
multinational corporations which include BP, DOW, Mitsui and Mitsubishi.
With many chemical intermediates available and an excellent infrastructure
in place, KIPC is set to grow and KTSB will be at the fore in providing
centralised tankage facility services.
