Vopak Singapore - Banyan Terminal

Profile

Vopak will start construction by September 2004 on its fourth Singapore terminal at the Banyan LogisPark on Jurong Island.

The first phase of this integrated oil and chemicals terminal will be completed by April 2006. It will consist of 16 oil storage tanks with a total capacity of 340,000 cubic metres and 10 chemical storage tanks with a total capacity of 31,200 cubic metres. A twin jetty will also be built during the first phase, which will be capable of berthing tankers of 120,000 and 80,000 deadweight tonne.

The fully built-up terminal, expected before the end of this decade, will have an oil storage capacity of 900,000 cubic metres and chemicals storage capacity of 550,000 cubic metres.
This latest project is driven by the growing demand for storage by both the oil and chemical traders supplying into the region. The new capacities will complement the 1.0 million cubic metres of oil storage already operating at Pulau Sebarok and the 500,000 cubic metres of chemical storage at Sakra and Tanjong Penjuru.
